Throw Back Thursday : Banff Springs Hotel

Happy Halloween!

Do you all have great plans for this year? I sure do, I’ve spent many years loving the fun festivities of this holiday but I have to say, it’s so much greater with an adorable little boy to dress up! How cute are kids?!

Okay but back to weddings, as fun as today is most of you aren’t interested in a goblin themed wedding so I am here to share with you a beautiful soiree from a few years back now actually. This just goes to show that a truly gorgeous wedding is timeless.

This couple worked with so many amazing local vendors so I’m really happy to be able to showcase their work and continue to have it be so admired for years following the event.

As I’m sure you are aware, this absolutely stunning wedding took place at the Banff Springs Hotel. A venue that I am still to this day so thrilled to have in our region. It really doesn’t matter how many weddings you’ve seen in this location, they will always be memorable.

But what makes a wedding really memorable is a photographer. Someone to capture all of those little details that you as the Bride and Groom may not have had the time to absorb on the wedding day. I love working with Matt and Trish of F8 photography and they did a great job on this day.

Of course the flowers are the showstopper aren’t they? Willow Haven was the team behind them and this wedding wouldn’t have been the same without them. But I know your eye is going back to that cake too. Gorgeous and delicious, this incredible cake was created for us by Barb at Cake Creations in Canmore.

And because I love all things paper, I can’t forget my great friend over at Glimpz for designing all of the gorgeous wedding stationery.

I’ll provide all the websites for these vendors at the bottom of this post so be sure to check them out.

But first, here is some photo inspiration for you. Enjoy!

Wedding Day Jitters Solved

Most couples are traditional and want to see each other for the first time walking down the aisle which is so special. However,  it can be really nerve racking not talking with your man for 24 hours! So having a moment before the ceremony can really calm the nerves and create a special memory. The best part is you can just hold hands or talk through the door so that you dont see each other to still have that element of surprise

Luxury Tip: Have your photographer take a picture of your guys during that moment, so later on you can really see the emotion you both have without even seeing each other.

Luxury Tip: If you are having a winter engagement photo shoot try to choose outfits that go along with the season in some way, so have a base color such as cream or brown and accent with reds, blues and greens.
